Who is the Course For?
This intensive course is designed to prepare students for the IB Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches Standard Level course, which is a big step up in both content difficulty and pace from most educational systems.
The course covers all core pre-requisite topics for IB AA SL to ensure that students can access their course from day one and hit the ground running. The course focus is on algebra, mental arithmetic, trigonometry and problem solving content that the IB considers to be required knowledge in order to start the course. Individualised support allows targeted revision of particular areas of weakness tailored to the student's prior experience.
The course is hybrid with an online and in person component. There are four hours of online small group sessions (one a week for 4 weeks). There are also four hours of individual online sessions (one a week for 4 weeks). The course culminates in an in-person weekend workshop (8 hours total) where students will work through exam style questions and practice papers with their instructor. The course is designed to be flexible and can be adapted to the needs of the student.
